Last year Tyson fought Roy Jones jnr in an exhibition match.

The boxing legend started his own company Tyson Holistic Holdings in 2016 ( it later changed to The Ranch Companies ). The former world heavyweight champion now owns a cannabis farm in El Segundo, Southern California.

Taking advantage of California State's legalisation of recreational marijuana, Tyson set up a cannabis farm with his business partner Eben Britton and is believed to be earning £500,000 a month. His business offers premium marijuana strains, edibles and extracts.

And it doesn't end there. He is building a 420-acre holiday resort which he hopes will be home to a musical festival big enough to rival the Coachella festival. The Coachella Valley Music and Arts festival is North America's most famous music festival. It is held each April at the iconic Empire Polo Club in Indio,California and draws more than a hundred thousand fans from around the world.

Tyson has built a cannabis empire since 2016.

Apart from the luxury resort, there will be Tyson University on site to teach cannabis cultivation to interested farmers. Tysons goal is to engage in the debate of the healing properties of cannabis and its ingredient CBD. His company produces a product infused with CBD that is clinically proven to provide relief from muscle joint pain and arthritis. Tyson believes too that CBD can help fight opiate addiction.

Tyson hopes to promote health and wellness.

The Tyson Ranch will be an expansive 420 acre affair where guests will be able to smoke marijuana anywhere within the resort. But rather than be a hotspot for people looking to get high, it will be a holiday destination that promotes health and wellness and weed will not be grown on the premises, only sold. The Tyson Ranch will be spread across 418 acres.

After legalisation, California's marijuana industry is projected to be a $4 billion industry by 2025 and Mike Tyson is perusing a slice of it and in a grand way. He admits, though, that the cannabis thing was not his idea. He says a friend talked him into it
