Man Born With Upside Down Head Defies Odds & Becomes Accountant

Claudio Viera de Oliveira from Brazil was born with disabilities. However, the most disheartening fact about his disabilities is his backward and upside-down folded head. He also has badly deformed legs and almost no use of his hands.

Doctors reported that Claudio sufferers from a rare condition called Congenital Arthrogryposis which fuses his joints together and weakens his bones.

At his birth doctors believed that he wouldn’t survive and that his shape was disgusting. They therefore advised his mother to deny him food so that he’d die out of starvation. Despite the advice from experts, the mother to Claudio ignored their monstrous suggestions and become more determined to raise the unusual kid. She took her baby home and nurtured him with care and love.

As Claudio grew up, his inhibited legs wouldn’t support his walk so his family refurnished the home floors to allow Claudio walk with his knees and not get hurt. Claudio lived ever day fighting and accomplishing tiny victories like using a pen with his mouth. This resulted to him writing an inspirational book over the years with the title “El mundo esta a contramano” (The world is the wrong way around). He even would use a mobile phone or computer mouse using his lips as part of his victories as he grew up.

37 years later, Claudio had defied all odds and graduated with a degree in Accounting from the University of Brazil. He is also an accomplished public and motivational speaker that inspires millions through his story and encouraging speeches.
