Celebrity:Kim Kardashian Broke CA’s Non-Essential Travel Ban for 40th Birthday Vacation in Tahiti

For months, California has been under a non-essential travel ban, with the state advising citizens to avoid traveling unless it is urgent or for business. "You can travel for urgent matters or if such travel is essential to your permitted work," the state wrote on it's COVID site. "

Even though businesses around the state are opening up, avoid traveling long distances for vacations or pleasure as much as possible. This is to slow the spread of the coronavirus."

But Kim Kardashian and her family ignored these guidelines again so Kim could celebrate her 40th birthday with a six-day vacation in Tahiti, according to E!. She rented a private island and flew all her guests using a private jet. These out-of-state trips are something the family has done several times this year, controversially and despite soaring COVID numbers across the country.

This was not a small birthday party with just Kim's immediate family, the people who she is quarantining with. Kim brought a big group of people. It's unclear from E!'s report whether they were all tested for COVID-19 beforehand or whether they wore masks on the trip. In the photos Kim, Kendall Jenner, and Kourtney Kardashian shared of themselves there, they weren't wearing masks.
