Meet Chinese 'folded man' who has been bent for 28 years

Li Hua has suffered a form of spinal arthritis that causes the bins to fuse making the spine curve forward. His case was so severe that three of his body parts were connected, his chin to his chest, his breastbone to his pubic bone and his face to his thigh bone.

He has suffered the condition for more than 20 years, he was diagnosed with the condition when he was 18 but he couldn't get proper treatment because his family could not afford it. The condition deteriorated over the years and his posture became worse until his upper body folded into his lower limbs.

He then went to a certain hospital that offered to operate on him. The surgery involved breaking and reconstructing his bones. This was done in four phases, in the first phase they broke and reconstructed his thigh bones. In the second phase they broke and reconstructed his cervical spine to enable him rise up.

In the third phase they broke and reconstructed his lumbar spine to enable him to stand up straight, and in the last phase they replaced his hip joints. The operations lasted for 7 hours after which he was able to lie on his back for the first time in over 20 years. Months later he finally stood up straight after 28 years. His mother can't hold her tears and she's grateful to the doctors for the amazing work.
