FG declares September 16 as National Identity Day 2020

The federal government has declared Wednesday, September 16, as the National Identity Day and urged Nigerians to enrol for Digital Identity (ID).
Ministry of Communication made this announcement on Tuesday, September 15, in a statement signed by its spokesperson Uwa Suleiman. Suleiman stated that the communication minister, Isa Pantami, emphasised the need for every Nigerian to be duly enrolled on the data of the ministry.
He said the federal government has made the right step in ensuring that the right policy environment was developed to encourage massive and stress-free registration.
He added that Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Nigeria will also be captured by the process.
