China's university cheats could lose access to mortgages and fast internet

 University students in China who plagiarize work could be cut off from getting a mortgage, lose access to public transport, and even have their internet speed slowed under plans to expand Beijing's controversial social credit scheme.


The country plans to include cheating at university as part of its social credit system, which rates people based on their behavior and determines their access to public transport, mortgages, universities, and even job promotions.
