Smugglers attack Customs, machetes one in Ogun

Smugglers have launched attack on men of the Nigerian Customs Service and wounded one with a machete in Ogun State.

The attack came after the Customs seized 35 bags of rice (50kg) from them at Ilashe Village, Ipokia Local Government area of Ogun State.
The customs, in a press statement, issued by the Public Relations Officer, PRO, Maiwada Abdullah made available to newsmen in Abeokuta, said the officers were about to leave the area after intercepting the smuggled rice when they (smugglers) trooped out in numbers on motorcycles with different types of weapons to attack the officers on duty.
