Street begging: Niger government joins Kano, Nasarawa, declares act illegal

 Niger state government has joined two other states in the north to ban street begging in the state 


 Kano state governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, had on February 25, set the space for the ban on the street begging 

 The Nassarawa state governor also followed Kano by announcing its decision to declare begging illegal in the state Barely 10 days after Governor Abdullahi 

Ganduje of Kano state banned street begging in every nook and cranny of the state, the Niger state government on Thursday, March 5, also placed an embargo on all forms of street begging, citing insecurity as the reasons for its actions. 

Daily Nigerian reports that Mohammed Idris, the state commissioner of information, who disclosed this at a news conference in Minna, said that the decision was approved during the weekly executive council meeting.
